Leonardtown retained the Landscape Architect (the “LA”) to engage with the community and prepare a plan to guide future investment, maintain a vibrant environment for residents and visitors, and connect existing and future assets to downtown.
Mahan Rykiel is working with Edens and Gables Residential on Gables Old Town North , a new mixed use development located within the Old Town North neighborhood of Alexandria. The proposed project includes several open space amenities for residents and the surrounding community.
MGM National Harbor is a $1.5 billion mixed-use resort, the newest addition to the booming multiuse National Harbor development situated along the Potomac Riverfront. A 23-acre destination resort casino, the project also includes a mix of retail, entertainment and dining. Mahan Rykiel was tasked with designing the exterior public areas and entrances.
The Wutai Hilton is the flagship hotel for tourists visiting the Wutai World Heritage Site, an area encompassing 5 mountain peaks and the ancestral home of Buddhism in China. The heritage region boasts nearly 1500 historic, temples, sites and artifacts.
Completed in 2011, the Four Seasons hotel is situated along the waterfront in Baltimore’s chic Harbor East district. The building is part of a larger 420,000 square feet development which includes the Legg Mason office tower.
The design of White Flint is guided by an interpretation and expression of the region’s ecological and cultural character. The central courtyard, nestled within the architecture, echoes the lines and forms of riparian corridors. Lush rain gardens, planted with native vegetation provide hydrological performance and beauty.
Anthem House is a mixed-use community that brings 287 upscale apartment homes, with retail and structured parking, to Baltimore’s Locust Point neighborhood. The landscape design for the development incorporates reclaimed materials and a native plant palette to reflect the site’s ecological and industrial heritage.
