Mahan Rykiel/Gorman Design, along with an environmental design group, were charged with developing a world class guest experience along the length of Downtown Burj Dubai’s 3.5-kilometer boulevard. Within the team, MRA’s role included:

• Planning the Boulevard “Experience”
• Design Criteria
• Gateway and Lakeside Plaza Design

The Boulevard will be the address for the world’s tallest building and its biggest retail mall, along with a dense mix of hotels, offices and residential towers. A key element of this comprehensive effort that included design criteria for all the public spaces, was the concept design for a spectacular and heroically scaled gateway sculpture.
