Baltimore Hilton Convention Hotel

Baltimore, Maryland

The Convention Center Hotel occupies a full city block on Pratt Street, Baltimore’s premier downtown and waterfront address. It overlooks Camden Yards, home to the Baltimore Orioles. The plaza at Howard Street accommodates an upgraded light rail transit station and has become the “gateway” to the ballpark from downtown. The generous pedestrian promenade coupled with green space and seating opportunities, is filled with activity after a game at The Yard. Mahan Rykiel’s urban design experience and attention to detail brings a fresh approach to this urban landmark. Prior to the hotel construction, the existing site was an expansive surface parking lot. Working closely with the design team, MRA was able to improve storm water infiltration into the Chesapeake Bay watershed by creating ample landscape and open spaces. The project also includes one of the largest vegetated roofs in the state of Maryland.
