Burt joined Mahan Rykiel Associates spring of 2019. He received a Master degree in Landscape Architecture with an ASLA Honor Award from Rhode Island School of Design and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Huazhong Agricultural University, China.
With a diverse background in landscape architecture, fine art, and environmental science, Burt’s work is rooted in scientific field research, poetic expression, and a theme of engaging people and communities. He is particularly interested in researching and developing ecological infrastructure that responds to sea level rise and climate change, and has published articles relative to this topic. With strong graphic skills, Burt also teaches architecture visualization online where he keeps exploring different means and methods of representation. Besides the role of a landscape designer, he is also a part-time printmaker, chef, and food blogger.
