Assiniboine Park Conservatory in Winnipeg, Canada celebrated the grand opening of The Leaf – a tropical biome that features tropical plants from around the world. Scott C. Scarfone, PLA of Mahan Rykiel designed the first holiday display for the grand opening of this world class attraction. The holiday show, themed ‘Home for the Holidays’, showcases traditional seasonal plants associated with the holiday season and settings that remind us of the experiences, traditions, and people that make home, home. Vibrant poinsettias, including a 10’ poinsettia holiday tree, cyclamen, amaryllis, winterberry holly, red twig dogwood and birch tree trunks strung with holiday lights adorn the space.
Located in The Babs Asper Display House, which is a separate space within the Biome, was a space designated to celebrate the art of horticulture with a rotating schedule of dynamic floral displays that will change four to five times per year, exploring seasonal and global themes. The holiday show runs from December 3 – January 8 and offers a variety of seasonal themed activities. Learn more about Assiniboine Conservancy and the holiday show here.
