Beginning with the preparation of the Master Plan in 2000, Mahan Rykiel has enjoyed a long relationship with the design team and Owner of this continuing care retirement community near Nashville. The Heritage serves residents with all levels of care needs including memory support and skilled nursing, in a variety of housing types – cottages, garden apartments and multi-story buildings.
MRA emphasizes a variety of outdoor spaces in the campus layout, with a focus on places for social functions in the context of small neighborhoods. These community spaces include courtyards, outdoor dining areas, a putting green and community gardens. Special amenities include fountains, an entrance pond with aquatic plants, and a walking trail with fitness stations.
Phase I + II are complete. Phase III is in design and anticipated to be completed in the Summer of 2013.
