Mahan Rykiel provided master planning and site development design for the expansion and repositioning of this island retreat. The private beach and golf club are being transformed into a full-service destination resort. The new program will add condominiums and cottage units as well as new pools, an expanded spa, retail shops and a new bar/restaurant.
A new “event” garden, with the elegant character of nearby Savannah, will enhance the arrival experience and make a new connection to expanded conference/meeting facilities. The beach side will feature a new “resort” pool overlooking the Calibogie Sound, as well as another specialty garden to support the growing demand for resort weddings.
