Established in 1983, Mahan Rykiel Associates is a woman owned (WBE), landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm located in Baltimore, Maryland. The firm has developed a broad practice and a diverse staff devoted to integrating people, nature and the built environment. Mahan Rykiel has become known and respected nationally and internationally for award-winning, people-centered design.
Our portfolio includes a wide variety of project types including retail, resorts, health care, parks, campus master plans, streetscapes and private gardens. Sustainability, selection of appropriate materials, and responsible stewardship are fundamental to our design approach – we embrace the environmentally sound practices the LEED process underscores and half our staff are LEED Accredited Professionals.
As our firm has grown steadily in size and distinction we have maintained a personal approach to our clients. We believe that good design develops through the interactive process of the designer and the client working together. Excellent service, provided consistently, has allowed Mahan Rykiel to maintain long-term relationships with many of our clients. We are proud of our built projects and numerous design awards.
In the Fall of 2007 we opened our first branch office in Hong Kong in an effort to provide our Asian-Pacific clients with more timely and hands on service.
