Greening Rooftops

MAHAN RYKIEL ASSOCIATES GREEN ROOFS AND GARDENS ON THE TOUR FOR NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN BALTIMORE

The Vue and Spinnaker Bay, two projects in Harbor East designed by landscape architects at Mahan Rykiel, will be a part of a tour on April 29th as part of the “Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities National Conference” being held at the Baltimore Convention Center from April 29th- May 3rd. Richard Jones, Associate Principal at MRA, will be speaking on this tour about the design process involved in creating these roof gardens.
Mahan Rykiel Associates, a landscape architectural, planning and urban design firm with a staff of 41 has projects on four continents and has been beautifying Baltimore for 25 years. Recent “green roofs” include the new Clipper Mill Condos, the new Convention Center Hilton Hotel, the Census Bureau in Suitland and Center Plaza (which is really a park over a garage). “Roof gardens” include Spinnaker Bay and The Vue in Inner Harbor East, The Four Seasons Hotel and the Sylvan Learning Center.
